NTS Arran Ranger Service
09:30 - 16:30 A volunteer day with the NTS Arran Ranger Service in upper Glen Rosa, building small fenced exclosures that will be planted with native broadleaved trees next winter and grow into future seed sources for native woodland. You walk about 4km each way, with around 200m of ascent and descent, carrying heavy tools for part of the way. The work is on rough, pathless ground up to 250m from the path, using hammers, saws and mells, with safety instructions given on the day. You need a good level of fitness and sure footing. Minimum age 16, and under-18s must come with a responsible adult. Numbers are strictly limited and registration is essential. Meet at Glen Rosa Campsite near Brodick.
